🐾5 Common Benefits of Pack Walking! 🐾

1. 🐾 SOCIALIZATION

.
Building your dog’s confidence with another dog in a pack mitigates a dog’s tension and need for competition or dominance. Rather than a face-to-face setting like a dog park, dogs can walk together and build trust while avoiding opportunities for problematic exchange.

2. 🐾 THE INSTINCT
to walk together - “Staying inline”
.
.
- As I’m sure you’re aware, domesticated dogs are descendants of instinctually social animals - wolves. Wolves travel in packs and build positive bonds with one another which in turn creates a sense of security, and can decrease a dog’s competitive tendencies.
3. 🐾 BUILD CONFIDENCE
.

We have worked with a handful of dogs that are nervous around other furry friends. By introducing them to our pack in a safe and fun way we have witnessed many pups gain confidence and build bonds with other dogs that they may have been too afraid to interact within an off-leash or face-to-face setting!

4. 🐾 BRAIN & BODY EXERCISE

While walking itself is an exertion of a dog’s energy, allowing dogs to sniff, learn and practice self-control are also highly beneficial features to a pack walk. For example, walking a 'leash reactive' dog in a pack of other dogs can provide the reactive dog with enough self-comfort and a sense of solidarity that they may feel less inclined to be reactive with new dogs they encounter.

A structured pack walk allows opportunities for a well-trained dog to model positive behaviors to a dog that may be less well-trained
